Recruitment - Deputy Director of Mines Safety (Mechanical), Directorate General of Mines Safety

Twenty-three vacancies for the post of Deputy Director of Mines Safety (Mechanical), Directorate General of Mines Safety, Ministry of Labour and Employment (SC-02, ST-02, OBC-06, EWS-01, UR-12) (PwBD-01) (Vacancy No. 22030506512) Of the twentythree vacancies, one vacancy is reserved for candidates belonging to category of Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) viz. Autism, Intellectual Disability, Specific Learning Disability and Mental Illness with disability i.e. Specific Learning Disability (SLD). The vacancies are also suitable for candidates belonging to category of Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) viz. Autism, Intellectual Disability, Specific Learning Disability and Mental Illness with disability i.e.Specific Learning Disability (SLD). The post is permanent.

General Central Service Group- “A” Gazetted (Non-Ministerial).

Pay Scale: Level- 12 in the Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC.

Age: 40 years.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

(A) EDUCATIONAL: Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University/Institution or pass in Section A and Section B of the Associate Membership Examination in Mechanical Engineering branch from Institution of Engineers (India).

NOTE: Only those candidates who were enrolled for Associate Member of Institution of Engineers (AMIE) up to 31.05.2013 are eligible for consideration to the post of Deputy Director of Mines Safety (Mechanical) (Direct Recruitment) and the candidates who have enrolled on or after 01.06.2013 for AMIE are not eligible for consideration to the post of Deputy Director of Mines Safety (Mechanical) (Direct Recruitment).

(B) EXPERIENCE: Ten years' professional experience in Industrial Installation or engineering workshop (including at least two years' experience in Mechanical Engineering in direct relation to plant and equipment used in mining).

DESIRABLE: Post-Graduate Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University /Institution. NOTE-I: The Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission, for reasons to be recorded in writing, in the case of candidates otherwise well qualified.

NOTE-II: The qualification(s) regarding experience is/are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission, for reasons to be recorded in writing in the case of candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes or the Scheduled Tribes, if at any stage of selection the Union Public Service Commission, is of the opinion that sufficient number of candidates from these communities possessing the requisite experience are not likely to be available to fill up the vacancies reserved for them. DUTIES: To inspect, examine and test mechanical installations in mines such as headgear, haulage and winding engines, cages, ropes etc and to prepare reports of such inspections.
